Custom Quilts
Custom Quilts Offered
- We do offer custom quilts such as T-shirt quilts and special request pattern quilts.
- Following a consultation we will provide an estimate of all approximate charges for approval.
- Upon approval of the estimate of the approximate charges, a deposit of half of the approximate charges will need to be made before work on the quilt will be started. Once the quilt is finished, this deposit will be credited to the invoice
- Final invoice will need to be paid in full before quilt can be released for pickup.
Quilt Prep
Quilt Prep: Batting
- We offer several types of batting for sale on our site. If you are providing your own batting, please ensure the batting is also 6 inches larger than your quilt top on all 4 sides.
** Reason for 6 in extra is to aid in a tight connection to the longarm machine and to accommodate the shrinkage that occurs with quilt stitching as it pulls tight and shrinks the quilt top and backing.
Quilt Prep: Quilt Top and Backing
- Your quilt will need to be prepared so that when we receive it, it should only require a light iron over it. This means that you will need to press and fold it neatly for shipping.
- Your quilt backing should be 6 inches larger than your quilt top on all 4 sides.
- Please ensure that all hanging threads are trimmed. These will show through your quilt top if not. Please address any holes in seams as these will also show through.
Pressing fee
If your quilt top requires additional pressing before it can be loaded onto the quilting frame, this fee applies.
Unprepared Backing Fee
If you would like to provide fabric for quilt backing unprepared, we can prepare, square, and press your quilt back. Price is per seam.
